Kent and Sussex Memorials Ltd was set up in 2014 as a ‘sister company’ to Abbey Funeral Services Ltd, an independent family funeral business that has been caring for families in Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, and neighboring villages for almost 40 years, when we identified a need to help our families and others to complete their funeral journey in a caring and professional manner.

We understand the emotions involved in this process and the need for perfection. We offer a personal service to help and guide you through purchasing a memorial from the simplest to the elaborate, to an ashes tablet, bronze plaque, or refurbishing an existing memorial.

We will gently guide you, advising on the transferral of memorial deeds when necessary, rules and guidelines that are in place for each churchyard and cemetery, completion of application forms, and providing proofs of your memorial.

Our masons are fully qualified and registered with permission to work at all churchyards and cemeteries within the South East

The British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM)

BRAMM was created in 2004 to establish a network of nationally accredited and registered memorial fixers. BRAMM promotes a recognised standard of service to the public by ensuring that adequate public liability insurance is provided and that members follow Health and Safety guidelines to protect both the public and their employees.

Cemetery Memorials

Cemeteries and Burial Grounds run by your local authority have fewer restrictions in place although they still have guidelines to be adhered to, but will allow a larger variety of Memorials in different stones, sizes and designs.

Churchyard Memorials

Every local Diocese has in place strict regulations that stipulate the memorials permitted within a Churchyard. As part of our service to you we will apply for the permit and pay any fees on your behalf which will be added to your invoice.

Children's Memorials

Choosing a headstone to celebrate a young life can be extremely difficult and sensitive and can be part of the healing process of loss. We will guide you through the process at the speed you require and be there to help with any difficult decisions that you have.

Ashes Memorials

Cremated remains can be interred, scattered or kept at home whether it be a keepsake or in their entirety. At Kent & Sussex Memorials we can provide you with ashes caskets from the traditional Urn to a more contemporary style. If the ashes are interred we can help you create an ashes memorial fitting for their surroundings

Vases

We have a selection of accessories that can be added to your family headstone. The most popular are Memorial Vases. These can hold a large number of flowers and can be personalised with a message and your loved ones name.
